The Municipality of Sogod has received the bayanihan grant amounting to P10, 312,630.00 which is equivalent to the LGU 1 month IRA. This grant will be used for COVID-19 related Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs). The Municipality utilized this amount for the procurement of preventive medicines and covid-19 PPEs, food assistance and other relief goods.

LGU-Sogod is one of the one hundred twenty eight (128) local government units (LGUs) in Central Visayas who were recognized and conferred the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) last October 17,2018 at the Capitol Social Hall, Cebu Capitol here by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). The Council for the Welfare of Children launched last October 8, 2014 the “Child-Friendly Philippines: A Caring and Protective Society for, by, and with the Children”. It is the advocacy and programming framework adopted by the CWC in response to both national (Child 21 and 2nd National Plan of Action for Children) and international commitments. It is consistent with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) and it requires the involvement of different stakeholders at various levels. (cwc.gov.ph)

The 128 LGUs passed the annual mandatory Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) based on the 12 criteria that uplifts the welfare and status of the children.
